Smart Phones

I've been holding back on a "Smart" Phone. I had one a few years back that ran Windows Mobile and I hated it. It constantly crashed. But with today's technology the mobile smart phones has improved 10 folds. But even with the huge improvements, I'm still holding back till next year because of the phone wars. It seems like every month, a new and better phone is released, so I might as well wait. No need to rush. Besides, I don't want to get addicted to a mobile device. Being detached from the world is refreshing (I'll go on a rant on this subject on a future post).

New Toy

I went out on a limb yesterday and purchased a 10” netbook. It’s super tiny compared to my other 14” lap top. With the intent of getting a dell, I walked out with an Asus Eee PC 1005HA. 160 gig hard drive and 1 gig of RAM, SD Slot, 3 USB ports, web cam, and mic. It’s perfect for the on the go type of stuff: Email, surfing the web, blogging, and as a portal for Data Transfers. I’m really excited to take it with me tomorrow and the few weeks that will follow. I leave for Spain in the morning!!

Reunited with an oldie

I lost my camera last year during one of my drunken outings. It was a Kodak V570. It features a wide angle lens that takes excellent up in close self portraits and an automatic panoramic shot (pic above). I've used it through out my first couple trips to Europe and in my eyes, it took excellent pictures. So I guess there also was some sort of sentimental value with it.
I purchased the Panasonic LX2 to replace the lost Kodak camera. It’s an awesome camera but I miss the two distinct features the Kodak offered (automatic panoramic shots and the wide angle compact lens). After further contemplation, I went on craigslist.com and found a seller for an upgraded version (V610). I picked it up yesterday and I am very pleased to have it as my camera for on the go. The Panasonic LX2 is compact as well, but the Kodak V610 is much slender and not as bulky in a pocket. I’m hoping to purchase a Nikon D90 soon.
